Hugo joined this week which resulted in a busy week of juggling school and socialising but was nonetheless enjoyable!
A few really lovely things happened;
Wednesday morning bagels with Maddy at Cafesito, Wednesday school, Wednesday evening Christmas Markets with the guys from school before coming home to meet Seline and watch Modern Family.
Thursday we cycled to Bregenz for breakfast/brunch which was probably the coldest thing I’ve ever done, then I had school before running on home to meet Maddy, Camille, Isabelle, Lulu and Selina where we made Kässpätzle and ate until significantly full.
Friday we met with Joey, Loeki, Mirjam and Jasmine before cycling to Feldkirch where we browsed the Christmas Markets and ate crepes. We came home at about 5pm, went to reopening of Lidl!!!!, then headed over to the student house for a pre-party before going out to Steinebach. Although having a reputation for being a bit uncool for anyone over the age of 16, we had a really great time and the music was SO good (ft. Snow Patrol remixes and Drops of Jupiter). Although the evening resulted in a broken bike (or two) it was greatly enjoyed.
Saturday morning we headed to the markets, looked around a bit and then went seperate ways. I needed to film Flatz Museum for an upcoming video project and Hugo went on the search for some joggers. That evening we had Sinterklaas which is essentially a Dutch Secret Santa. 40 of us snacked on beautifully presented lollies, baked goods and gingerbread from the Netherlands before being given an anonymous poem and gift. I received an adorable poem (which I have currently misplaced but hang tight) and beanie – both of which were greatly appreciated. The night continued on with flip cup and beer pong as it always does before cycling home.
POEM UPDATE:
Dear Madeleine
Sinterklaas was in thoughts,
about a present that Madeleine would like lots.
But she said “I literally don’t mind, whatever!”,
Sinterklaas didn’t like her answer.
Sinterklaas had no idea what to buy,
for a australian girl that catches the eye.
One friend said just buy a hat,
they said she would look good in that.
Chat, cat, mat, pat
This is your gift hat.
Sunday we went to church in the morning, before returning home to do some admin, I then went up Karren with Mirjam and then Hugo and I headed off to dinner at Maddy’s with Emily and Camille where we enjoyed quiche and Seline’s birthday cake which I’d gotten earlier in the week and then not run into her. Ooops.
It was a good week.
