This is quite rushed due to having an hour to get this done in, shower, go to bed and start the working week once again.
This week was another good week – filled with dinners out and time with friends. Davide and Maddy came over one night for a dinner on the terrace with zucchini boats, Italian prosecco, couscous salad, apple and plum crumble and salmon. It was followed by Davide repairing all the broken artwork in our kitchen. I’d bought salmon for dinner during the day and then went on an excursion through Lichtenstein with the internship for a photoshoot. Needless to say, repelled any potential new friends. It was a really fun afternoon in Lichtenstein though. I drove with Patrick where we met some locals to take photos at an outdoor oasis/swimming pool. I had to stand in a fake rock and man the light whilst the models jumped off it. It was also my job to deter any children, which was difficult although I made many new 9 year old friends. I had actually planned to return to the tiny country on Saturday for their national day (the prince’s birthday feat. 1 hour fireworks) but the weather was a deterrent. Internship is continuing to go really well, everyone is so kind to me and I really enjoy our lunches out. The next night I was hosted for dinner at Maddy’s where her, Camille and I ate zucchini fritters – Camille and I then went and got gelato, enjoying the summer night. The weather went from max 36 degrees to max 20 this week which was a bit of a shock but also a relief. Just in time for the weekend of course. Saturday was a public holiday (which I only found out when I turned up to a non-existent market.) Saturday night was spent at Davide’s with some of his friends sharing a beer over board games. Sunday consisted of breakfast with Maddy, church, lunch at an Italian restaurant with 2 Austrians and 5(!) Australians and then dinner at the Vogelmanns where we played articulate (in German!!) and ate lots of unhealthy food.
It’s been a great week (aside from the lady who pointed out the pimple on my back at the supermarket – cheers. Flipping hate Austrian honesty.)
PS officially made the halfway mark of exchange this week – 175 days to go
The rain really came down this weekend
